Working at ATI Research, Inc.

The toyshop was intended to be a Tech demo for the latest series (1800) of ATI graphics cards using directX shaders. I had just arrived from the film world and took responsibility for the final look of all rain, puddles, particles,

Lighting, lightning, taxi, and taxi effects. I worked with programmers who wrote a majority of the shaders leaving exposed parameters for me to adjust for final look. The team comprised of 3 artists and 3 programmers.
Details such as cobbles, bricks and signage are raytracing, all displacement mapped in render only - without displacing or subdividing any actual geometry. This scene was also lit in HDR so it was possible to dynamically and/or programatically adjust the visible range during interactive sessions and for lighting / lightning effects.
