Whirlpool had accumulated valuable information about how people prefer to wash their clothes that could be used to address customer needs with a sophisticated, high-end washer. But how could they translate this critical research into a cutting edge product? And do it fast?

We were limited by actual hardware, and delivered content for installation in a working washing machine within 6 weeks. The deliverable included a flash prototype depicting all functions and animation and incorporating the technical specs of the final hardware so as to guide the frame rate and bit depths of content.
The final solution incorporated a few novel interfaces for adding some human centered heuristics, like speed vs eco friendliness, to system defined cycles.

The product was in production within 12 months, a stunning record for Whirlpool.
