Working at MAYA Design, Inc.
We were charged with creating a presence for NAMII at the Additive Manufacturing Conference. NAMII (The National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Institute) was created by the government to advance the state of additive manufacturing. After an innovation session where we created stakeholder maps and learned the meaning and purpose of the institute, a 4-person team went about the task of creating a booth to suit the client's needs.

We envisioned a blank slate of whiteboard where NAMII, along with MAYA, could run Human Centered Design activities to collect the needs of the community.

I created the design, renders, and dimensioning for the booth. I also supervised construction and setup.

Part of the design was a flipdot array, from AlphaZeta, that would announce the next session, or playfully attract attention using animations. This array was accessible by tweeting to it so we could make announcements on the fly from anywhere on the floor. This required custom software, a server, animations, a custom font, and a specification for images and animations. I created the spec, many of the animations, the custom font, and designed the timing.
